My Ge Microwave Door Handle Broke

The top of the handle on my microwave broke. Before you start this repair ensure the power and the high voltage capacitor are disconnected from the microwave. Maybe i should have used super glue.

Slide a screwdriver in the seam between the edge of the door and the panel that frames the window. For a handle that will break again that was still too much to pay. I was able to remove the top screw but the screw in the bottom of the handle is sandwiched between the layers of door and i can find no way to take the door apart. I used gorilla glue that was 2 years ago and it s holding on.

You only need to get a couple inches worth of clearance near where the handle is located. The handle is still firmly attached by the upper screw but i don t know how long that will work. The manufacturer has not supplied the door handle screw specs.
