This is normal and not a defect covered by warranty.
My awning is leaking how to fix it.
The cover serves 2 x purposes 1.
Protects the awning when stored and during travel 2.
4 corroded screws suggest a leak.
Treat the seams with a quality seam sealer.
3 carefully peel away the moulding.
Cover is approx 200mm in depth and runs full length of the awning.
Put leather gloves on to protect from cuts while working with the aluminum awning.
On vinyl canopies side hems and poly cords are stitched in with a sewing machine.
Over time acrylic and canvas fabric threads will expand and contract as they get damp and dry out.
On occasion this stitching may allow water to seep or leak through the stitches.
Clean the area surrounding the leak.
Step 2 clean any grime and or rust off the aluminum awning with a wire block brush to have a clean surface for the patch to stick against.
Make sure the awning fabric is clean and free of mildew before repairing the holes.
Used the awning for the first time and it rained and leaked at the trailer looks like there is a seam in the track where two are butted together and this is where it leaked.
5 water tracking marks reveal the source of the leak.
Use a sealant that is uv resistant exterior grade and designed for seams and metal.
Wash the leaking area and after it dries apply a line of polyether sealant to cracks or gaps in the awning.
The surface must be free of dirt grease oil rust tar and any other contaminant that will inhibit a proper seal.
This is mostly caused by the awning being left open during rain and in the sun for long periods of time.
Wash the awning with a mixture of warm water.
If it is a light colored fabric use the white silicone caulk for the repair.
Put a dab of the silicone caulk on your finger.

As the rain assaults the awning it begins the process of oxidation or rusting.
Place a ladder next to the aluminum awning.
If it is a darker fabric use the clear silicone caulk.
It covers the stitching when the awning is out and prevents water sitting on the stitch line therefore stopping the chance of the leak.
2 side moulding must be removed in order to find the source of leak.
This stretching can create gaps that allow the rainwater to drip through.
The sealant will fill the crack as it dries and plug the leak.
